I can play mediafly videos on my roku but when it comes to using the MY Video Channels, or My audio Channels all I get is "retrieving". The mediafly website shows my roku registered but my roku does not recognize any of the "My Channels" I have tried rebooting my roku, which was no help.
Any ideas as to how the get mediafly channels working on my roku?
Roku won't display, list, nor recognize MY Video Channels or MY Audio Channels.

We apologize about this. The service is currently running slow because of the huge hit from the roku launch. We will have that resolved shortly...

Cool. We are just excited because this is so awesome that we can't wait. Except we totally can. Thank you!

We had a bit of performance hit with the Roku launch. It should be recovering soon. Sorry about that.

Same problem as the others. Roku is registered device and from my laptop I can add content but does not appear to sync with the Roku device.

Can you add a show like MSNBC morning joe which we know works and see if that makes it. To your Roku?

me too - when I try to get to my video or audio, it is still retrieving ad infinitum (how long should we leave it running before giving up ? I admit I didn't wait a long time.... since it seemed to be going nowhere.
On the other hand, when I tried to access the same content via search, I can get to it. For example, MSNBC podcasts such as Rachel Maddow's DID show up yesterday, but only after searching for her by name ... I also was able to see Countdown from the "popular" channel. Both are in "my" video queue -- but neither is accessible that way.
This is a great idea and fun to get this type of content over Roku as well via as the usual routes. Hope you can get the glitches worked out.

I am also having this problem with speed and My Channels not showing.
I have a feeling that Mediaflay and Roku did not expect such an interest.
Which, now makes me worried regarding my Cox bandwidth limits. These new streaming devices are really going to upset the cable companies and may force them to reconsider download limits and/or caps. I hope not.
Anyway, I can not wait for all the bugs to get sorted out as the concept of getting these small video shows on my TV when I want is rather nice.

I am having this same problem. Roku cannot seem to get my video or audio channels. I finally can see most popular channels and TWIT channels, but not my channels.
Even deleted and reconnected my Roku to Mediafly just now. "Manage Users" pages shows my account, but my video and audio channels do not come up. Screen just says "retrieving..."

Can you check 2 things...
1. Are there episodes in your channels on the right side of your My Shows page on Mediafly.com?
2. Are your shoes explicit? Explicit shows are currently filtered but we will be allowing language explicit through soon.
Thsnks,

Hi Carson,
Ok, it wasn't clear that I had to add episodes as well as the channels. I added an episode to the right-hand side of the web page. I have Cranky Geeks, NASCAR, College Humor, and Rotten Tomatos. I guess the latter 2 may be "explicit" based on the nanny system.Just went onto the Mediafly channel and Cranky Geeks episode now shows on video channel and NASCAR shows on audio channel.
So I guess it's working. Thanks!

We will be easing the "nanny system" filtering to allow language explicit through soon.

Why filter at all?
Posted 8 months ago # -
We must filter certain types of content per our agreements with the device companies. Each company has different requirements.

Am I to assume this nanny filter is why I can't get SModcast?
I understand that explicit language is a concern, but it drives me crazy when I'm not given final say in the matter. It has been 4 weeks since the last post on this particular thread, so could we get some sort of ETA on when we'll be able to override the nanny filter?

Be sure you are logged in at the Roku site. Look in the upper right corner. If it says logout, you are logged in and vice versa. If you aren't logged in, the Roku to Mediafly link does not register at the Roku box.

How about doing a video of your own showing all the stuff we need to know about Mediafly on Roku or maybe just putting up some Help documents on your site. Maybe you have already done this and I just can't find it. In any case, after about two weeks of trial and error I have figured out that you have a fantastic site that is worth working to connect with.

Okay, now I have SModcast, which makes me happier, but there are a tremendous number of podcasts I can't add (pretty much everything else on http://www.asitecalledfred.com: Cabin Fever, A Bit of a Chat with Ken Plume, and others). The funny thing is that I can play them on the site, but I can't add them as channels. This site has such potential, but is almost completely ruined for me by the nanny filter Because I can only use it for two podcasts out of the dozen or so I listen to, it can never become a habit to use it.
I understand the staff is busy, but can we at least get an ETA on when the nanny filter might be optional? Otherwise I might just get tired of checking up on the site and completely forget about it. I really must have the ability to circumvent this filter for this service to be useful on my Roku, or I'll never be able to use this service regularly enough for it to become a habit. Also, the ability to remember where I left off on each podcast would make this a killer app on my Roku.
